One of Penicuik’s newest businesses has been reaching out in the local community by providing hot meals at a church foodbank.

When staff at Babu-G, the Indian restaurant in John Street, heard there was a weekly foodbank at the nearby Sacred Heart RC Church, they decided to help out.

Every Thursday, a quantity of hot food and rice is freshly prepared and taken to the church.

Babu-G manager Sameed Ibrahim said: “It is very important we are doing something for the community. Just because we are a business doesn’t mean we can’t help other people.”
