A Bonnyrigg woman has been presented with a Scottish Asian Women’s Award for Outstanding Contribution to Scottish Society.
Trust Housing Association’s Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Manager Rohini Sharma Joshi picked up the accolade at a ceremony organised by the Scottish Asian Women’s Association (SAWA).
The inaugural awards event was to recognise and celebrate the achievement of Asian women in Scotland in fields ranging from sports and arts to business and the voluntary sector.
The ceremony in Glasgow recognised - in the words of SAWA awards founder and chairman Tasmina Ahmed-Sheikh - the “gifted and talented women who have contributed in many ways, and continue to do so, to the rich tapestry of our nation.”
