Confusion surrounds plans for a skatepark in Loanhead.
A group spearheading the project fears the metal ramps it has obtained could scupper chances of funding, on health and safety grounds – and it claims Midlothian Council has snubbed the project, in favour of a similar one in Bonnyrigg.
However, council leader Derek Milligan (Lab) insists the Loanhead project is still on the cards and that metal ramps are suitable.
The Friends of Burghlee Park started the project two years ago after receiving metal ramps from an Edinburgh housing group. With the council’s support the ramps were moved to Midlothian with a view to erecting them in King George V Park.
