A COLLEGE project to test electric cars has been hailed a roaring success.
The experiment – carried out by Jewel & Esk College with backing from SEStran and Midlothian Council – involved four vehicles provided by Mitsubishi.
Thirty staff and students at the college have used the vehicles for routine journeys between the college’s campuses in Midlothian and Edinburgh.
More than 934 journeys have been made, covering an average of 5.1 miles, with a total of 11,000 miles travelled so far.
