A VACANT Midlothian warehouse could launch a major push to create indoor sport facilities around Scotland.
Kickabout Arena, of Loanhead, is preparing to convert a large unit on Mayfield Industrial Estate in a project expected to cost £700,000.
The company has gained planning permission to provide one seven-a-side pitch and five five-a-side pitches inside the 55,000 square foot unit, with a further floodlit outdoor seven-a-side pitch on adjacent ground.
The new complex is expected to create around 12 jobs and offer playing opportunities for sports enthusiasts for up to 12 hours each day, seven days a week.
