Summer rise in Midlothian home care

A SIGNIFICANT rise in home-based care was provided by Midlothian Council during the summer.

The local authority’s Reablement team delivered 1800 hours of home-based care between June 1 and August 31, a 41 per cent increase in care hours compared with the same period last year.

The team responded to 277 referrals, including 168 hospital discharges and 109 community referrals.
