Swinging into action for Mark Wright Project

Midlothian charity The Mark Wright Project aims to bring the ‘glitz and glam’ of the Golden Age of Swing Music to Edinburgh this Saturday for a night of nostalgia, with a little help from a jazz orchestra which appeared in one of the most critically acclaimed films from the last 25 years.

The fabulous Memphis Belle Orchestra, which created the authentic ‘big band’ sound in the war film ‘Memphis Belle’, will be the star attraction at the gala event, which also includes the excellent 17 piece ‘That Swing Sensation’ Jazz Orchestra, plus The Kennedy Cupcakes - a fabulous 1940s -50s inspired dance troupe.

The evening will be held at the Corn Exchange, Edinburgh, in support of the servicemen and women and their families who, through The Mark Wright Project, need support in addressing the invisible wounds of war and help ease their transition into civilian life.
