Thugs rob man at knifepoint in Dalkeith

Police are appealing for witnesses following a brazen knifepoint robbery in Dalkeith town centre last Friday afternoon (August 2).

The incident happened around 3pm, in St Andrew Street, at the junction with Tait Street.

The 26-year-old victim was walking in the street and was approached by four men.

He was threatened with a knife, and robbed of his wallet and mobile phone.

All of the men are described as white and in their twenties.

The first suspect is described as 5ft 10ins tall with a slim build and a skinhead.

He has a tattoo of a wing on his neck, and wore a black Adidas tracksuit with white stripes and a maroon t-shirt, blue jeans, and white trainers.

The second suspect is described as 5ft 10ins tall, short black hair, stocky build, with stubble, long sideburns and a goatee-style beard.

He was wearing white Lacoste t-shirt, black tracksuit bottoms and white trainers.

The third man is described as 6ft 3ins tall with a slim build.

He had a skinhead and was wearing a plain black t-shirt.

The fourth man is described as 5ft 8ins tall with a stocky build and short blond hair.

Detective Constable Callum Richardson, from Police Scotland, said: “The area was busy with pedestrians at the time of the incident, and we are keen to speak to anyone who can assist us with our inquiries.

“In particular, we want to trace a member of the public who shouted at the group of men before they ran away from the scene along St Andrew Street.

“Anyone else who witnessed the incident, or who recognises the description of the suspects, should also get in touch.”
