A Gorebridge man, concerned at plans to build a 200 square metre metal structure on wasteland near his home, has gained local support.

Scott Luke fears Drew Wesley’s planning bid for a ‘workshop’ at Hunterfiled Road would lead to noise disturbance for locals – and last week he got the backing of Gorebridge Community Council over the matter.

Mr Luke listed his concerns over this application.

He said: “I’ve really not got an objection to creating jobs, it’s just that it’s going to be noisy.

“The work going on inside will echo, and even raindrops on the structure will make noise. And it will be situated at the top of a wee valley so the noise will echo down.

“I don’t think we are going to stop this but I want to have some noise restrictions on it.

“And it would not be in keeping with the conservation area.

“It will also lower the value of houses in the area and I have just not long moved in here.”
