Are you struggling with your King’s Gambit and are undecided about the Sicilian Defence? Help is at hand at the Pentland Hills Chess Club.
The club, based at Loanhead Miners’ Welfare Club, resumes its new season on Tuesday, September 3, and would welcome new members.
The club meets every Tuesday from September to June.
As well as the weekly Tuesday evening meetings, from October the club will have at least two teams competing in the Edinburgh Chess League.
With just a few more members, the club could run a third team in Division 3 of the Edinburgh Chess League.
Last season the club also competed in the Edinburgh Allegro Chess League and in the Scottish National Chess League.
