Lasswade film maker dies in car crash

A rising film maker from Lasswade has been killed after the Aston Martin he was driving crashed in Clackmannanshire.

Richard Steel (40), of Kevock Cottage, died instantly last Wednesday morning when his £110,000 Aston Martin left the road and landed on its bonnet in a field on the A91 Blairgowrie to Menstrie Road.

The respected cameraman had been in the area to film an advert for drinks firm Diageo’s Johnnie Walker brand.

His brother Garry Walker (51) told the Advertiser this week: “He will be sorely missed. He would have become a great uncle on Wednesday, as his niece Gemma had a baby girl.”
