Railway work issues in Newtongrange to be resolved

Network Rail has promised to fix light casings fitted back to front on the Borders Railway and promised this will not hold up the project.

Newtongrange Community Council chairman Jason Ferry said: “The apparent slow progress of installing and completing the foot bridges has been regularly notified to Network Rail as it’s causing some consternation in the community. We accept mistakes can happen but the rectification works now required will cause further, avoidable delays.”

Network Rail said: “Repairs are not expected to take long and there will be no impact on delivery timescales.”
