The team at National Mining Museum Scotland rescued an owl discovered by cleaners last week, trapped in pigeon netting with cuts on its beak and legs.

Technical Services manager David Newton said: “We thought it was dead but we were able to get it down and call the SSPCA. The cleaners are over the moon that it is OK.”
