Tributes have been paid to a community stalwart who sadly passed away recently, a year after being told he had six months to live.
Former Moorfoot Community Council chairman Ken Adam (60) died on December 5 after bravely fighting pancreatic cancer for a year.
He worked tirelessly as a member of the Midlothian Federation of Community Councils, working closely with Midlothian Council on planning issues and changes to community councils’ constitutions.
Mayfield and Easthouses Community Council chairman Robert Hogg said: “Ken was fearless in tackling those who he deemed to be not up to their job and pushed for answers when they were reluctant to give them.Ken fought this horrible illness right to the end, only resigning from the positions he held dearly – fighting for the people of Midlothian and his community of Moorfoot – two weeks before his sad death. We will all miss him but more so his family and the people he represented over the years.”
