Trust hopes to create new jobs

The Coalfields Regeneration Trust has launched a £50,000 job creation challenge in Scotland’s former mining towns and villages.

This is the third year in a row that it has run its Coalfields Community Challenge, which seeks to identify up to ten individuals or recently launched social enterprises, and help them create new businesses and jobs.

The finalists will receive six months intensive business support, training and mentoring, and the chance to pitch against each other in a ‘Dragon’s Pit’ for a share of the £50,000 award fund.
