A VICTORIAN-themed family fun day will be held at the National Mining Museum Scotland in Newtongrange this weekend.
The event will take place on Sunday as part of the nationwide Festival of Museums weekend, and will give visitors the opportunity to travel back in time with Victorian coal sorter Aggie McGhee to experience what life was like at the coalface for the Victorian miners.
As well as the Victorian tours, there will be a whole host of other activities taking place on the day.
Neil Kempsell, Scotland’s top live caricaturist, will be around and about capturing visitors’ expressions throughout the day, there will be pony rides, face painting, bouncy castle, Punch and Judy shows, craft stalls, wooden spoon Victorian doll making and Victorian toys and games to try out.
