The residents of two small Midlothian communities have been placed at the heart of a successful life-saving campaign.
After months of fundraising, Roslin and Bilston Community First Responders took ownership of two public access difibrillator machines.
Jean Bassindale, First Responder co-ordinator, is delighted with the response from the local community in raising £3400 in nine months. She said: “We have done extremely well. We are so pleased.”
Meanwhile, the world famous Rosslyn Chapel, spurred on by the Advertiser’s Appeal from the Heart, also purchased its own defibrillator.
The chapel recently recorded one of its busiest years with 144,823 visitors coming through its doors in 2013/14.
