RESIDENTS of Newtongrange must make use of community facilities – or risk losing them.
The stark warning was issued by Midlothian Councillor Wilma Chalmers (Lab), pictured, who urged locals to support organisations that contributed significantly to village life.
Speaking at a recent meeting of Newtongrange Community Council, she suggested that a formal roll call of community groups be conducted to gauge building usage.
This would see the community well-prepared to respond to the possible loss of a local activity or amenity.
