A COUNCILLOR has called for a review of Midlothian Council’s policy on wind turbines.
Councillor Ian Baxter (Green) called for a review of the Landscape Capacity Study for Wind Turbine Development in Midlothian during a recent debate on plans for a wind farm at Fala Moor.
The council’s planning committee agreed by nine votes to five to reject Ridge Wind’s proposal to build nine wind turbines on the county’s southern boundary.
The majority endorsed the view of planning officials, who noted that the development was contrary to recommendations made in the study, adopted by the council as a non-statutory guideline in February 2007.
