Wind Prospect is to hold a series of public exhibitions concerning its Mount Lothian wind farm proposal on the Penicuik Estate.
The company wants to build 12 turbines with an installed capacity in the region of 24 megawatts. The proposal has the potential to generate up to 58,000 megawatt hours of electricity annually, sufficient to power 14,000 homes.
If approved, the project would be accompanied by a community benefit fund worth £48,000 per year or £1.2 million over the project’s anticipated 25-year lifetime.
Wind Prospect will be unveiling their plans during public meetings at Howgate Village Hall (July 3), Eddleston Village Hall (July 4) and Penicuik Town Hall (July 5).
