IT has been a week of congratulations at Roslin BioCentre with two tenant companies picking up major awards.

Solid Form Solutions recently won the Nexxus Most Promising Young Life Science Company Award (East) in Edinburgh.

SFS was established two years ago with three family members – Stephen Watt, Julie Scott and Alan Beattie – specialising in pharmaceutical development. When pharmaceutical companies need help keeping medical molecules in pills and capsules stay in the exact configuration that works in the body, they turn to Solid Form Solutions.

This has led to the company tripling its lab space at Roslin, employing 14 people and looking to take on more, achieving more than £1 million in sales and establishing partnerships with more than 50 companies worldwide.
