This week’s Arctic blast is a timely reminder to be prepared for winter.
A new Scottish Government campaign is urging us to take an hour to prepare for the weather we are likely to see over the coming months.
The Ready for Winter campaign offers advice on how to prepare in the home, at work, on the move and in the community.
This includes getting your car ready for winter driving and identifying vulnerable neighbours who may need help or assistance when the weather turns nasty.
Do you have access to a shovel and salt or grit, for clearing snow and ice from paths and drives?
Whether you’re self-employed, manage a small team or run a large business, checking now that you’re ready for all kinds of severe weather can save a lot of trouble when it arrives. What arrangements are in place if staff can’t make it to work? Do you have appropriate insurance cover?
By doing some small things now, you could prevent major problems later.
