A department store worker is organising a new event coming to Midlothian aimed at raising thousands of pounds for charity.
The first ever Edinburgh Winter Walk will be held at Vogrie Park near Gorebridge on Sunday, November 2 for Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research
You can walk 5k or 10k to raise money for the charity.
The event is organised by John Lewis worker Emma Blaikie (42), who through her work’s charitable trust is “giving something back” to a cause close to her heart.
She said: “This is the first time I have organised something like this.
“I was a bit daunted at the beginning but now we have set a date and been round the place it’s just a case of getting it out there and getting as many people as possible to take part.
“I have got relatives in Pathhead, they have put posters up around their local area which has helped.
“I suffered from Leukaemia when I was a child. So this means a lot to me. It’s a case of giving something back.”
