THE turf has been cut on a state-of-the-art £37.1 million community hub and high school in Lasswade.
The new Lasswade Community Campus will provide cutting-edge facilities for the local community, teachers and pupils. Existing facilities will be replaced and community services brought into one building.
The first phase of the community campus is expected to open in autumn 2013 with capacity for up to 1,480 pupils.
In addition to the school, there are also areas in the 18,848sqm building for library services, community use, a conference suite and a leisure centre that includes a 25m six-lane swimming pool and gymnastics centre.
