The new Gorebridge community centre is due to open next August with work progressing well and interest in the £2 million facility growing.

Gorebridge Community Development Trust has worked hard on this project. Archie Pacey from the Trust said: “After many years of hard work, I am delighted the construction of the centre is now underway.

“The new centre has the ability to dramatically improve the quality of life for the people of Gorebridge.”

The building will include a café area with a corridor leading to Gorebridge Leisure Centre behind, community rooms, offices and a 150 seat hall, which led Tom Bancroft of the Pathhead Music Collective to add: “There is nowhere else like this in Midlothian and we are looking forward to working closely with the Trust as the project develops.”
