Entries for this year’s Mid and East Lothian Writer of the Year competition must be submitted by tomorrow (Friday).

The competition is run by Tyne and Esk Writers in partnership with Midlothian and East Lothian Councils Library Services and is open to anyone over the age of 16.

This year, the prose judge is Zoe Strachan, a well respected Scottish author. Christine de Luca will be judging the poetry entries.

All prizes are being donated by Kesley’s Bookshop in Haddington with the overall winner will receive £100 and the beautiful Alison Kinnaird trophy to keep for a year.

The first prize winner for prose writing and the first prize winner for poetry will receive £40 book tokens. Second prize winners will receive £10 book tokens. Book tokens have bee donated by Kelsey’s Bookshop in Haddington.
