Pupils from Mauricewood Primary, Penicuik, are to be involved in a Scottish Parliament debate on the use of electronic collars on cats and dogs.

The P6 and P7 pupils, who recently visited the parliament, will submit their views to Midlothian South MSP Christine Grahame (SNP) for use in her debate in the new year.

Ms Grahame added: “I am hoping that by getting the views of the young people it will not only educate them about animal cruelty but will also keep them engaged in politics and the workings of the parliament.”
