A pilot project involving local primary school pupils as tour guides at Rosslyn Chapel has been hailed a success.

More than 60 people gathered in the historic church recently to watch the final performance of the chapel’s first junior tour guides.

Colin Glynne-Percy, director of the Rosslyn Chapel Trust, presented the Roslin Primary pupils with certificates of appreciation and a commemorative badge. Students from Jewel and Esk College filmed the event so each child could have a copy of their performance.

Over the past year, the P7 children have been trained to act as guides for visitors to the chapel. The programme was originally intended to mark the opening of the chapel’s new visitor centre.
