These are exciting times for your local newspaper as we prepare to launch ourselves as a “people’s paper”.
We are about to introduce a whole series of new community news, features and articles.
Many readers already write letters, features and club or council reports for the Advertiser, and many more submit a wealth of sports items and photographs. But we are in the process of recruiting a team of readers who will write directly on the pages of their favourite local newspaper, bringing you more of the local news, views and opinions that really matter in your neighbourhood.
Our reporters will continue to cover the big issues, including the council, court and crime, making sure that your Advertiser is still first with the news.
We hope you will enjoy these changes and reading what our new contributors have to say.
If you want to get more involved yourself, there is still time.
Do you think we are missing out on your news or do you have interesting subjects to write about that don’t normally make our columns? Contact us!
You might just want to let us know about something special to you, or contribute more regularly, perhaps as a representative of a club or group, or to write about something you are passionate about.
There are dozens of events and meetings taking place each week, from coffee mornings to meetings of the Royal British Legion, book clubs, local history societies, theatre productions and live music. If you are involved, let us know. Let us publicise your event in a bigger way.
If you want to get more involved, just drop us a line explaining why you want to be part of our new team and what kind of articles or suggestions you could contribute. Your email doesn’t have to be any more than 50 words.
It might embrace stories, points of view, features, photographs or video ... as long as it is local and relevant to the community, we want your input.
If you wish to be considered for a place on the Advertiser Panel, please email email@example.com and firstname.lastname@example.org, marking the subject line Advertiser Panel.
