THE game started quietly but suddenly burst into life in the 4th minute when a long ball from defence picked out Cameron. He got past his marker and cleverly lobbed the ball over the advancing keeper to put Penicuik ahead.

Penicuik were then comf
ortably in control of the game until the 16th minute when a Farquharson cross was deflected by the head of Foster into his own net.

However, Penicuik restored their lead two minutes later when a neat head flick by Cameron found Moonie who outpaced his marker and he also chipped the ball over the head of Nugent into the empty net.

Ramage came to the rescue for Penicuik when he brilliantly turned a powerful shot by Murray round the post for a corner kick.

Penicuik then survived another two corners in succession and settled back into their stride. Play swung from end to end, but the important final ball let down both sides.

Right on half-time, Gay played a great diagonal pass to pick out Moonie who got past his marker and drove the ball low past Nugent into the bottom corner of the net.

One minute into injury time, Moonie sent over a testing cross into the six yard box where Barr rose above the Blairgowrie defence to head home to make it 4-1 for the visitors at the break.

Seven minutes into the second half, Christison was at full stretch to cut out a Montgomery cross to the front post.

Immediately afterwards, Gay blocked a clearance by Halenka, rounded keeper Nugent, but he was unable to keep the ball in play.

In the 55th minute, a pass by Gay picked out Moonie. He got past two defenders, set up Cameron, but his effort went across the face of the goal and was cleared.

One minute later, Cameron saw his first time shot go inches over the bar. At the other end Brash had a strike from the edge of the box that went narrowly past Ramage's right hand post.

In the 65th minute, a neat ball over the Penicuik defence found substitute Cruikshank, but Ramage was quick off his line to gather the ball.

One minute later, a Neave free kick gave Robertson a chance at the back post, but his effort went wide of the target. In the 69th minute, Cameron should have scored, but somehow managed to head the ball past the post from four yards.

Immediately afterwards, Blairgowrie's best player, Neave, did exceptionally well to cross the ball to the back post from a very tight angle, but Farquharson failed to get his header on target.

In the 75th minute, with the Blairgowrie defence shouting for offside, Moonie drove in on goal, cut the ball back to Cameron but referee Harris then gave offside against Cameron.

Two minutes later, Farquharson had a great chance, but his strike went yards wide of goal.

In the 80th minute, a quick break by Penicuik saw Moonie get round Nugent only to be tripped by the keeper. Moonie converted the spot kick for his hat-trick.

In the 87th minute, following a free kick to Blairgowrie, Farquharson headed narrowly over the crossbar.

Right on full-time, Steel had a chance for Penicuik, but his header flashed past the post. The win puts Penicuik at the top of the table.
