Rose ready to face favourites

Bonnyrigg Rose have drawn a plum home tie in the quarter finals of the East of Scotland Cup against Super League championship favourites Lochee United.
The two previous Super League clashes between these two clubs have seen a win apiece both at home so can the Midlothian men do it again and reach the last four?

The other three remaining third round ties go ahead this coming Saturday, May 17, wit
h St Andrew's at home to Whitburn the winners there due to visit either Carnoustie or Linlithgow.

In another East of Scotland Cup third round tie it is Montrose Roselea at home to Ballingry with Camelon at home awaiting the winners there. East of Scotland Cup quarter final draw — Bonnyrigg Rose v Lochee United, Kelty v Bathgate, Carnoustie or Linlithgow v St Andrew's or Whitburn, Camelon v Montrose or Ballingry.

Bonnyrigg have also gained a home semi final tie in the Dem-Master Demolition Cup facing either Scottish Cup finalists Bathgate Thistle or Premier Division's Arniston Rangers.

Leaving

Rose, of course, edged Armadale 1-0 in the quarter finals here. Dem-Master Demolition Cup semi final draw — Bonnyrigg v Bathgate or Arniston, Whitburn v Edinburgh or Musselburgh.

In the Super League championship Bonnyrigg play their second last game of the season this Saturday away to Camelon leaving them with a final league fixture against none other than Bathgate Thistle.

Newtongrange Star were in action on Tuesday evening earlier this week visiting Linlithgow Rose in the quarter finals of the Fife and Lothians Cup bidding to join Bathgate, Camelon and Hill o' Beath.

The Star last visited Prestonfield in October losing the League Cup final 3-1.

In the Premier League the Star are this week just one point behind second top Forfar West End with first and second only in this division being promoted to the Super League.

Commitments


But while Forfar entertain bottom relegated Rosyth, Newtongrange have the highest hurdle visiting champions Boness United. Last Saturday Star won 2-0 at Armadale Thistle in the Premier League.

Penicuik Athletic with no cup commitments left had a fine Premier Division 3-2 win away at Kinnoull last Saturday leaving them with just two remaining games to finish their season.

Firstly this coming Saturday at home to relegated Armadale Thistle leaving them one final home game against champions Bo'ness United.

Arniston Rangers awaited a cup date for their clash with Bathgate Thistle in the Dem-Master Demolition Cup and have only one last Premier Division fixture to play away to relegated Rosyth.

A Kyle Howitt goal for Arniston equalised a Matti King strike for Musselburgh at Olivebank in a 1-1 draw there with the points shared last Saturday.

Dalkeith Thistle continued their impressive run with a 3-2 win at Harthill last Saturday in the East Region South Division following a midweek 0-0 draw away to Edinburgh United.
