Bonnyrigg edged out in five-goal thriller

ONLY half a dozen matches escaped the weather on Saturday but those were key fixtures in the Scottish Cup, Super League and South League, writes Striker.

Super League champions Bo’ness United edged visitors Bonnyrigg Rose by 3-2 in a thriller at Newton Park to deny a Rose victory which would have put them on top of the league at the festive break.

Bonnyrigg sit two points off the pace but with a game in hand over top of the league Fifers Hill o’ Beath.

Linlithgow Rose are third top but managed to play a Fife and Lothians Cup second round tie at Prestonfield beating hapless Kirkcaldy by 8-0.

With the fourth round of the Emirates Scottish Junior Cup drawn for next month’s ties, some progress was made on Saturday while this coming Christmas Eve Scottish Cup ties are still on the fixture list.
