Gearing up for this Saturday’s local derby with Newtongrange Star, Bonnyrigg Rose could only secure two points in two games last week.

On Saturday they twice let their lead slip and had to settle for a 2-2 draw away to Hill of Beath in Fife.

Bonnyrigg opened well against their tough opponents and took the lead on the tenth minute when Kris Renton headed home.

Rose looked the most likely to score next as they took control of the game.

However they conceded a very soft equaliser when Lyall Shaw’s toe poke eluded everyone and got the home side back into a game that Bonnyrigg Rose had looked like they had for the taking.

But in the second half Bonnyrigg Rose grabbed the lead again when Stewart Rose hit home a sublime free-kick.

But again the visitors were unable to hold on to their lead, frustratingly seeing Ally Adamson outpacing the Bonnyrigg Rose defence to equalise for Hill of Beath and earn the home side a point.
