Dalkeith pile on the pressure

Dalkeith RFC v Ross High
Dalkeith RFC v Ross High

Unbeaten Dalkeith welcomed East Lothian visitors Ross High to King’s Park.

Montgomery was returning to the side, Duke was a welcome sight in the back row, with Ross also returning from the Royal Marines for what will hopefully be an extended stay.

Ross High were soon under the cosh, as the Dalkeith scrum stole the visitors ball at will and pressurised the midfield. The visitors back row was off-side all over the place in an attempt to stem the flow of Dalkeith possession, but official seems happy to ignore this.

Dalkeith come back at them and several more good phases of possession, including a penalty line out, allow a drive to the line. Whitson drove through the defenders and over for the score.

Ross High drove into the Dalkeith half and more favours from the official allow the visitors to pressure the home 22, but Dalkeith are looking much sharper. The home scrum steal the Ross High scrum ball and Ramsay’s slipped pass releases Andy Hamilton for the run into the corner, Smith converts.
