Bonnyrigg Rose v Bathgate Thistle

BONNYRIGG Rose continued their stunning unbeaten run since November 12 with an awesome 5-0 win over Super League Bathgate Thistle at New Dundas Park to keep them well in the running for the top East Region title this season.

Meanwhile, in the quarter-finals of the New Coins Automatic Cup, Auchinleck won 2-1 away at Cumbernauld.

Midlothian’s two respective league leaders lost their top places on Saturday, with Premier League Penicuik Athletic toppled off the top spot, losing 1-0 away to relegation-fighting Armadale Thistle, while frustrated Dalkeith Thistle were moved off pole position temporarily in the South League, as their match at Pumpherston was postponed.

New leaders in the South League this week then are Falkirk, who beat visitors Dunbar United 2-0, and in the Premier League, it’s Tayport, who dumped hosts Oakley 6-1. Sauchie still look title favourites though, with a handful of games in hand, starting this weekend at home to Broxburn after last Saturday’s 2-0 home win over Ballingry Rovers.

Arniston Rangers continue to put up a brave fight to avoid relegation with a battling 0-0 draw away at Glenrothes on Saturday.
