HEART of Midlothian Football Club lived up to their name recently by bringing the two national football trophies to the heart of Midlothian.
Pupils from Dalkeith High School received a surprise visit from the Scottish Communities League Cup and Hearts midfielder Jamie Hamill last week as part of the Wave of Support Trophy Tour to promote respect, responsibility and tolerance to football fans and families throughout Scotland.
Hearts midfielder, Jamie, visited the pupils over lunchtime and talked to them about the importance of respect, responsibility and tolerance on and off the pitch to encourage positive behaviour and unite communities. The pupils, aged between 12 and 17, were also given the chance to have their photo taken with the Cup and ask Jamie questions about playing professional football.
Hearts also recently brought the Scottish Cup trophy along to Newbattle Community High School.
The holders of the oldest football trophy in the world were happy for pupils and staff to see the cup they brought back to Edinburgh after defeating city rivals Hibs 5-1 in May.
