The Arniston Rangers team helped boss Jock Landells celebrate on his 54th birthday with a stunning 4-0 away win over St Andrews last Saturday.
Arniston had travelled missing the likes of David Jeffrey, Greg Callaghan, Danny Thomson and Kevin Moffat, the latter having called an end to his career due to work commitments.
Midweek negotiations with Edinburgh United, meanwhile, had brought back Danny McFadden to Arniston on loan.
Arniston had Chris Tobin, back from Bonnyrigg, on from the start on a perfect autumn day in St Andrews but a goal either side of half-time was to to put the Arniston 2-0 ahead.
In 39 minutes a fine move by Lumbert Kateleza to set up Danny McTernan was saved but, just one minute before the end of the half, an Arniston break saw Kyle Doig set up Lumbo who scored with a super lob over the keeper putting Arnie in at half time with a narrow 1-0 lead.
That lead was doubled to 2-0 just four minutes into the second half, again with Lumbo the marksman.
In 55 minutes, while chasing his hat trick, Lumbert was felled by the St Andrews keeper and Kyle Doig made no mistake from the resulting penalty kick to make it it 3-0 to Arniston.
Arniston were to go 4-0 ahead with more than 20 minutes left of play when a good move up the left flank involving Michael Deland, Kyle Doig and Darren Leslie ended with Deland hitting the net to put Arniston well into the three points.
A late consolation effort from the hosts hit Dale Cornet’s crossbar but it finished with a handsome Arniston away victory.
