The Jags turned in arguably their worst home display of the season on Saturday losing 2-0 to fellow promotion hopefuls Tayport.
Dalkeith were back to an almost full strength team with only Jay Hunter and Kevin Murray still missing. The squad having been bolstered by the inclusion of new signings Keith Barr and Paul Tansey
However, it was the visitors who looked the brighter side as they almost scored within 30 seconds when Ruaridh Donaldson knocked an early effort over the bar.
The vistors, with the benefit of the gale force wind behind them, had the Dalkeith defence on the backfoot for long spells.
Elvin had a shot saved by the Dawid Paterek’s outstretched leg, midway through the first half.
