Dalkeith Thistle manager Willie Pearson resigned on Saturday following his side’s 2-0 East of Scotland Cup defeat by Rosyth.
Kevin Haynes, who, it was recently announced, is to become the new manager next season, will now take over earlier than expected. The club posted a statement on its website on Saturday after the home defeat which read: “Dalkeith Thistle have accepted the resignation of its manager, which was tendered after today’s match at King’s Park.
“The committee would like to wholeheartedly thank Willie for the contribution he has made to the club over the past 12 years and we wish him the best of luck for the future.
“Kevin Haynes now steps up as manager, as announced previously.”
