Vandals are threatening to wreck Dalkeith Thistle’s dreams of a top four finish this season.

The club invested heavily in pre-season, splashing the cash on several new players.

However the additions to the squad – Kevin Haynes, Gary Small, David Morrison, Stevie Robertson, Grant Sanderson and Grant Gavin – would not have been possible without the support of sponsors.

Vice-president Jim Butt told the Advertiser: “We are just a wee club on a limited budget, trying to do our best in a competitive league.

“We struggled last year, but with our new signings we now have depth in reserve, and hope that with a bit of luck, we will break into the top four this season.”
