Having won their final game of the season on Saturday to go top of the table, Easthouses Lily now have to wait to see if they are crowned champions.

A 3-0 win at Spartans EOS on Saturday put Easthouses top of the East of Scotland Premier Division with 52 points, three ahead of Lothian Thistle, who play third placed Leith Athletic in their final game on Saturday. A draw or win for Leith would clinch the league title for the Lily, while a Lothian win would see them crowned champions given their better goal difference.

Easthouses Lily’s manager David McQueenie revealed that despite being in Benidorm for chairman David Arthur’s stag do he will be kept up to speed with the title’s destiny. He said: “There is quite a few of the players going to the game so they will keep us informed. It will be some party on Saturday night if we get the result we want!

“But regardless of the result on Saturday though we have exceeded all expectations.”
