Former Hibs stars are to dust off their boots for a charity football tournament in Newtongrange.

Ex-Hibees, lead by Easter Road legend Keith Wright, are to take to the field at New Victoria Park on Saturday, July 23, in support of the Combat Stress charity, which helps ex-service personnel suffering from psychological injuries and mental health problems.

Football action kicks off at around 10am, with children’s seven-a-side football tournaments for under nine’s, 11’s and 12’s. Later, a round robin adults’ tournament is to be held in the afternoon, with teams from 1 SCOTS taking on local sides, and the ex-Hibs select.

Not just a football event, the day promises to be lots of fun for all the family, with amusement rides, face painting, a tombolla and bouncy castle. Wallyford Pipe Band and the 1 SCOTS Regimental Pipe Band have also signed up to perform.
