Five-star win over students puts the Lily joint top of table

Easthouses Lily visited Stirling University on Saturday and came away with a convincing 5-3 victory to go joint top of the league.

Easthouses should have been two goals up in the opening minutes but sinners Ally Elliot and Mark Brown both missed good goalscoring chances.

But they did take the lead in the ninth minute with the goal of the game by veteran John Baigrie, firing in a ferocious shot from 20 yards out following good link-up play by Paul McDermott and Elliot.

Easthouses continued to bombard the Stirling goal but to no avail and in the 30th minute a header by a Stirling forward cannoned of the crossbar.

The Lily increased their lead to two in the 39th minute when Steven Campbell played in Elliot and he got the first of his brace, firing low and hard into the back of the net.
