Newtongrange Star are in next week’s South League Cup Final - take on the side that beat them in last year’s final.
To celebrate, the Advertiser is running a special ‘May the 4th be with you’ poster to pull out and display.
Premier League side Star have finished their league campaign with promotion to the Super League secured, and now have to wait to find out if they are crowned champions.
In the meantime the side have a huge cup final against unbeaten Super League side Linlithgow Rose a week on Saturday (May 4).
Chairman Stan Adams is hoping for payback and believes everyone at the club is “up for it” and dreaming of a double.
He said: “I absolutely can’t wait. It has been a long time coming.
“I always fancy our chances, every time Newtongrange play. That’s my problem, if we lose I feel really bad.
“In the final we are up against the best team. It would be fantastic if we could beat them.
“It would be great to win the league and this cup. That would be a superb achievement to get the double.
“The players, the fans, the whole club are completely up for it. Let’s go and do it!
“We lost in the final last year 3-1 to Linlithgow Rose at the same venue, so we are looking for revenge. But they have a very good side.
“We have played Super League teams this season and beat them, so as I say I always fancy my chances.”
South League Cup Final - Newtongrange Star v Linlithgow Rose, at Broxburn’s Albyn Park on Saturday, May 4, kick-off 2.30pm.
