Barnardo’s Scotland Fostering has embarked on a unique partnership with Penicuik Athletic Youth Football Club’s Girls U13s side.

New strips were presented to the team displaying the charity’s logo and will be worn throughout the football season this summer.

Through this partnership the charity hopes to raise awareness of fostering and to make stronger links in the local community.

Penicuik Athletic coach, Alan Smith, said: “The club and players would like to thank Barnardo’s Scotland Fostering for their support.

“We are delighted to be part of Barnardo’s Scotland’s campaign to promote and raise awareness of fostering.”

It is hoped the initiative will help raise awareness of the need for foster carers and develop a good network of carers across Midlothian.
