Bonnyrigg Rose had to settle for a draw in the end at New Dundas Park after bravely coming back from behind against Linlithgow Rose.
For their part, title chasers Linlithgow will rue not collecting all three points in the battle of the Roses after finding themselves 2-0 up at half time, but Bonnyrigg’s second half comeback could have equally earned them a win.
This was Bonnyrigg’s last home game of the season and after a superb ninth minute save by Linlithgow keeper Christie had defied a netbound Kris Renton header, it was in the 17th minute that Linlithgow went fortuitously ahead. A shot from Tyrrell took a deflection to beat home keeper and trialist Weir to break the deadlock.
And soon it was 2-0 to the visitors. Coyne fed Nelson with an excellent through ball down the outside, who in turn crossed magnificently for Maclennan to head home.
