Arniston produced one of their best results of the season against Bo’ness on Saturday to reach the semi final of the East of Scotland Cup.
Bo’ness United were back at Newbyres Park for the second time in only five days having ousted Arniston 2-0 from the Fife and Lothians Cup last Monday.
The away side started the stronger of the two, enjoying the lions share of possession in the first half but they couldn’t convert their dominance into chances.
It was Arniston who posed the bigger threat, in fact, with Kateleza going close on 19 minutes before Thompson saw his shot brilliantly saved by United keeper Peat two minutes later.
It was Bo’ness who took the lead, however, on 23 minutes when Walker netted from a rebound when Rachowski could only parry a powerful shot on target.
The away side edged the first half to go in 1-0, after Kateleza uncharacteristically passed up a handful of golden opportunities and couldn’t convert a rebound on 37 minutes.
