Easthouses Lily visited Coldstream for their last game in Section D of East of Scotland Qualifying Cup knowing that even a win would not see them into the later stages.

The game kicked off in blustery conditions and the Lily captain Scott Borthwick, in for the day in the absence of the ill John Baigrie, won the toss and elected to go with the wind. It paid dividends when in the second minute a long kick out from keeper John Falconer found Mark Brown who coolly slotted his low shot into the back of the net.

The Lily should have had number two when from a corner was met by Campbell whose header was miraculously saved by the Coldstream keeper.

In the 33rd minute good closing down play by Borthwick and McKinnon resulted in the Lily scoring when the ball fell to John Hunter and his acute shot from 18 yards found the bottom corner of the net.
