It’s a triple header of home Midlothian Junior Football action this Saturday.

The busy midweek fixtures also kick in next week to speed up the season, with a crucial Premier League clash at King’s Park between visiting second-top Ballingry Rovers and hosts third-top Dalkeith Thistle in the vital race for promotion to next season’s Super League. This will be Thistle’s penultimate home league match of the season, as they chase revenge for a 2-0 defeat at Ballingry in November.

Meanwhile, last Saturday the Jags beat Thornton Hibs 5-3 at home, in a high-scoring second round East of Scotland Cup tie. Meanwhile, Premier League Ballingry were being held to a 0-0 draw at Dundee Violet.

Newtongrange Star are heading back to the elite Super League having now completed all their league fixtures for the season. Saturday sees an ideal test of their ambitions when they welcome Super League’s Camelon Juniors to New Victoria Park in a second-round East of Scotland Cup tie. Camelon hit six past visiting St Andrews United last Saturday in the Super League, while Newtongrange edged Penicuik Athletic 1-0 in a controversial final Premier League match for the Star at New Victoria Park.

Arniston Rangers are at home at Newbyres Park on Saturday to face runaway South League leaders Fauldhouse United, who thrashed hosts Harthill Royal 11-0 last Saturday.

Arniston, meanwhile, drew 0-0 away at Whitburn in the South League last weekend.

Bonnyrigg Rose follow their 2-2 home draw with Hill o’ Beath last Saturday with a visit to bottom of the Super League St Andrews United this weekend. Max Christie’s men are looking for a league double over their hosts.

Penicuik Athletic will be away to North League’s Forfar West End this weekend, in a much-delayed first round tie in the East of Scotland Cup. The winners visit Premier League Ballingry Rovers in the second round.

Also this weekend it’s Emirates Scottish Junior Cup semi-final first leg ties with Linlithgow Rose at home to cup-holders Shotts Bon Accord and Auchinleck at home to Rutherglen Glencairn.
