On Saturday Newtongrange Star contest the League Cup final against newly-crowned Super League champions Linlithgow Rose.

Meanwhile, Bonnyrigg Rose, currently second top of the Super League following their 2-1 away win at Carnoustie on Saturday, also look forward to two possible cup quarter finals. This weekend sees them in the third round of the East of Scotland Cup away at Broughty Athletic (who are bottom of the Premier League). This will be followed by a Fife and Lothians Cup third round tie at Oakley United.Dalkeith Thistle are already Fife and Lothians Cup quarter finalists after their excellent 4-2 win at Bathgate. But the Jags will be tested this Saturday, entertaining Super League’s Bo’ness United at King’s Park in the third round of the East of Scotland Cup. Bo’ness won their second round tie last Saturday 8-0 at Luncarty, while Thistle were also winning by 3-2 away at Dundee Violet in the Premier League.

Cup ties dominate this coming weekend, with Penicuik Athletic facing a tough East of Scotland Cup second round tie away to fellow Premier League side Ballingry Rovers. Penicuik won 2-1 at home in the Premier League on Saturday over Perth’s Jeanfield Swifts as Ballingry were beating Fauldhouse United 2-0 in Fife in the second round of the Fife and Lothians Cup. Ballingry beat Penicuik 3-0 at Penicuik in the Premier League and the Cuikie have still to visit Ballingry for the return .

Arniston Rangers still have to visit Super League’s Broxburn Athletic for their third round Fife and Lothians Cup tie – but this weekend the Arnie complete a hat trick of consecutive home South League fixtures entertaining Livingston United, who beat Haddington Athletic 4-3 on Saturday. Arniston were held at home to a 2-2 draw by Stoneyburn in the South League. Arniston will have one final home league match against Pumpherston, while finishing with four away games due at Edinburgh, West Calder , Falkirk and Blackburn.
